WHERE DO THE BAPTISTS COME FROM?

 

Some years ago I made a jest: Buy a stake and receive two Baptists free of charge!

I made that jest in a Dutch Baptist Church, but those Baptists had no clue what it meant.

Most Baptists in the Netherlands have not any knowledge about their spiritual roots, with the result that most Baptists regard themselves as modern evangelical kind of Christians, and in their ignorance ending up in a spiritual sector in which the world has been penetrated for years, while Baptists should have great and many biblical reservations in these matters.

For this reason, when I was asked to start a new Baptist Church, I obliged anyone that was interested, first to do this historical study with me: Where do Baptists come from?

Only when they could identify themselves with these spiritual roots, could they consider to become a member of the new Baptist Church. My son studied 6 years engineering in the USA, at a Baptist College & University; He acknowledged that my story was for a greater part unknown to him……………………….

So not only in the Netherlands, but also in the USA, Baptists are ignorant of their roots!!!

 

 

BIBLICAL WORLD VIEW:

 

Every body growth up with a world view: your culture and your education laying the foundation for your way of thinking.

Normally no one is aware of that, because everyone is thinking in the same way, until you are being confronted with foreigners, and with foreigners I have not Belgians or Germans in mind, not even English and Frenchmen, nor Americans nor Canadians. No I am thinking about Africans and Asians, they think in a completely different pattern and that does not make them any less then us.

When you become converted on a later age and you start to apply Biblical principles in your daily life only to be confronted with the fact that your own culture resists greatly your new way of thinking, because we all have been educated with a basically Atheistic world view, also at (government subsidized) Christians schools…….

1Cor.2:14/16; But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

CHEAP AND EASY CHRISTIANITY:

 

I have been brought up in a Christian family, afterwards I attended 10 years of Christian education, but during my puberty I personally rejected it completely: I rejected the Christian religion, not specifically God, because I did not know Him yet personally.

Later, when I was a bit more mature, I had a personal encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ; He blamed me that I never had thanked Him for dying on the cross for my sins and raising from the dead for my justification!

After I confessed my sins and became born again, I thought at first this is heaven on earth.

Joh.3:5; Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Reality was quite different after a week! Why is everything always against me? Was my complaint for years, to God.

I was born again and saw the Kingdom of God and wanted to enter in right away, but there was resistance from all and everywhere!

Hand.14:22; Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God

The apostle Paul warned Christians in the 1st century, that the voyage to the Kingdom was not a holiday trip at all.

2Tim.3:12; Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

At the end of his life Paul warned the young Timothy, that the moment you apply Biblical principles in your daily life, than you asked for persecution: the world is against that, because it is basically politically incorrect!

 

Fox's Book of Martyrs is the history of the local churches of Jesus Christ, in which is described the English word 'witness' as the translation of the Greek[martyr], which is the foundation of our English word 'martyrs' as well.

Most Christians could not even give a testimony, because the born again experience is a theological theory only, and the few remaining born again Christians in the welfare states, would rather testify by running a marathon, but not becoming a martyr.

For this reason the forces of darkness running freely into Western Society, the former Bulwark of Christianity.
